Schools in Ecuador's Sierra and Amazonia regime ended classes on June 26, 2026, starting vacation for students who passed the school year.

The closure came after the 200 academic days set in the Ministry of Education's official calendar.

Key Dates

Students who did not reach the required scores for promotion must attend recovery classes from June 29 to July 3.

Supplementary exams are scheduled from July 6 to July 9. Graduation ceremonies are planned from July 6 to July 10.

Teachers will continue evaluation reviews, grade registration and planning for the next school year. Their vacation period runs from July 10 to August 8, and they return to schools on August 11.

Zone 6 Numbers

According to Ministry of Education data cited in the report, 268,811 students completed the school year in Zone 6, which includes Azuay, Canar and Morona Santiago.

The same zone has 17,256 graduating students.

Transfers And Enrollment

The Ministry of Education has four transfer and enrollment phases between July and August.

The first two phases are for transfers and sibling enrollment, while the following phases open access for general changes between public schools and for students coming from private schools.
