Avianca Announces New Daily Direct Flights Between Quito and Miami Starting April

Travelers between Ecuador and the United States will soon have another daily option after Avianca confirmed it is launching nonstop service between Quito's Mariscal Sucre International Airport and Miami International Airport on April 15, 2026.
Schedule and Aircraft
The route will operate seven days a week on the following timetable:
- Quito to Miami: Departs 11:30 PM, arrives 5:45 AM the following day
- Miami to Quito: Departs 8:00 PM, arrives 12:30 AM the following day
Avianca plans to fly the fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo on the route, with both business and economy cabins available. Introductory economy fares have been spotted starting around $289 one-way, though those promotional prices are unlikely to last long.
Why This Matters for the Expat Community
For the thousands of foreign residents who split time between Ecuador and the US -- or who simply need reliable connections for family visits, medical appointments, or business -- the new route is a welcome addition. Until now, expats flying between Quito and Miami relied primarily on LATAM's direct service or connected through Bogota or Panama City on Copa.
Having multiple carriers competing on the same route should also help keep fares in check, particularly during peak travel seasons around the holidays.
More Routes on the Horizon
Avianca officials have also indicated the airline will boost frequency on its Guayaquil-to-Bogota service and is actively evaluating a potential Quito-to-New York JFK route for later in 2026. We will report on those developments as details emerge.
