Public Higher-Education Registration Runs June 2-6

Ecuador's next public higher-education registration window opens this week.

El Universo reports that the Registro Nacional for access to public higher education for the second 2026 academic period runs from June 2 to June 6.

The process is mandatory for applicants seeking a seat in public universities, polytechnic schools, technological institutes and public conservatories.

Where To Register

The registration must be completed online at admision.educacion.gob.ec.

Applicants must complete the form, verify the information and download the receipt as backup.

Who Can Participate

El Universo reports the call is directed to:

• Students in third year of bachillerato in the 2025-2026 Sierra-Amazon calendar
• Graduates from previous years
• Foreign citizens with regularized residence in Ecuador who meet the requirements

The Registro Nacional is also required for applicants to focused programs offered by specialized training entities, including the National Police, Navy, Fire Department and penitentiary system.

Institutions In The Process

El Universo reports that 33 public universities and polytechnic schools will participate.

The process also includes 54 public technological institutes and higher conservatories attached to the Ministry of Education, Sport and Culture, plus three non-attached institutions.

The government says 373,818 people participated in the first 2026 public higher-education registration period.
