IESS Reserve Funds Equal 8.33% Of Salary After The First Year

Some workers in Ecuador have a separate employment-linked savings item they may not think about every month: IESS reserve funds.
What They Are
Reserve funds equal 8.33% of salary. IESS explains that they correspond to one additional month of pay for each year of work.
In monthly terms, the amount is one-twelfth of salary, or 8.33%.
The right begins in the second year with the same employer, and IESS records the money in an individual account in the affiliate's name.
How To Check
The balance can be checked through the IESS website using a cédula and personal password.
The route listed is: Afiliados → Fondos de Reserva → Consulta de Fondos.
