Ecuador E-Commerce Passed $7 Billion In 2025

E-commerce in Ecuador has moved from pandemic workaround to permanent habit.
The market is now in one of its strongest consolidation periods, driven by higher trust, better payment options, and increasingly faster delivery times.
The sector moved more than USD 7 billion in 2025. Before the pandemic, e-commerce in Ecuador moved less than USD 1.5 billion.
Delivery Is Changing Expectations
For Ecuadorian companies, the digital channel is no longer just an add-on. It is now part of the core commercial strategy.
Marketplace logistics are a major part of that shift. Mercado Libre Ecuador now describes its platform as an integrated ecosystem that manages logistics, payment gateways, and the commercial process, giving users more security.
Between 2024 and 2025, the company recorded sales growth close to 200%. In 2026, it says the trend is moving even faster, with a goal of quadrupling the results reached in 2025.
About 85% of orders now arrive in less than 48 hours, and many cities already have same-day delivery.
Still Room To Grow
Ecuador still sells approximately four times less than Peru through Mercado Libre, which points to remaining growth opportunities in digital education, logistics, and new sellers.
The platform has more than 13,000 active merchants and more than 250 official stores, including large companies, small and medium businesses, entrepreneurs, and artisans.
The next eCommerce Day Ecuador is scheduled for July 22.
