SRI Offers 12 Properties and Nine Vehicles in September Auctions

The Servicio de Rentas Internas (SRI), Ecuador’s tax authority, will carry out several remate and subasta processes during September 2026 for assets seized in collection proceedings. The offer includes 12 properties and nine vehicles located in Quito, Guayaquil, Santo Domingo, and Portoviejo.

For foreign residents, the important point is that this is a formal public process with its own qualification and payment rules. The published article says the complete September list can be consulted through the SRI’s linked information page. That list matters because the summary does not provide the individual property descriptions, addresses, auction dates, or a comparison with market prices.

How the vehicle process works

People interested in the vehicle auctions must be adults and must first qualify with the SRI. To participate, they must consign at least 20% of the initial base value, either in cash or by certified check made out to the SRI.

Once qualified, participants receive a number to take part in the process and may improve their offers. That means the initial price is a starting point for the auction, not a promise that the vehicle will be awarded at that amount.

The source does not list the nine vehicles individually in its article. A potential bidder therefore needs to review the SRI list itself and verify the vehicle, base value, process date, and document requirements before arranging funds.

How the property remate works

The property process is different. Interested parties must submit their offers in a sealed envelope at the time and place established by the SRI. The offer must specify the amount to be paid in cash and how the balance will be paid. The bidder must also consign at least 10% of the offer value.

The remaining balance may be paid over a period of up to five years, with the applicable interest and a mortgage over the awarded property. That financing structure may be relevant to a buyer who is evaluating an Ecuador property purchase, but it does not remove the need to model the total cost of the transaction.

The transfer-cost detail

The assets are awarded to the highest bidder who satisfies the stated conditions. The SRI says the assets are delivered free of liens, while the expenses for transferring ownership are paid by the buyer.

There is also a consequence for a winning bidder who does not complete payment: the asset may pass to the second-highest bidder, and the first bidder must assume the corresponding difference.

An SRI auction can be worth investigating, but it should be treated as a rules-based acquisition process rather than a shortcut to a bargain. Review the complete official list, confirm qualification steps directly with the SRI, calculate the required deposit, and budget for ownership-transfer expenses. For property, also evaluate the cash portion, the balance, interest, and mortgage structure together.

The September offer is concrete: 12 properties and nine vehicles. The pricing advantage, condition of each asset, and total transaction cost require separate verification before bidding.
